Head of Internal Communications, Mercury Communications plc
Creating an employee communications strategy and tactical programme, recruiting a team of six people to implement this. The team researched, tested and delivered a redesign of the company-wide magazine as well as launch publicity and ongoing support for Mercury's intranet and interactive TV.
Working closely with the HR and Marketing directors on a number of strategic communications campaigns to address change and restructure throughout Mercury. Many of these projects were undertaken with the direct sponsorship of the Chief Executive to communicate his vision for Mercury as the company's strategy evolved to address the fast-paced change in the telecommunications marketplace.
The most significant of these projects were communications support for a two-year business process re-engineering programme, and development of the communications plan following the announcement of the merger which created Cable & Wireless Communications in 1997.
Project Manager, Marketing and Design, KPMG
Designing communications projects to support major change programmes within KPMG's IT, corporate finance and audit practices as well as advising on the implementation of a new global brand across all internal and external communications.
Managing projects including annual reports, proposal documents, brochures and conference material as well as editing KPMG's internal newspaper for more than 12,000 partners and staff.
Editor, Public Affairs Department, Shell UK Limited
Responsible for the editorial, design and production of three employee magazines, travelling extensively within the UK and offshore. Editor of Shell Times, the quarterly corporate publication with an audience of all employees, business leaders, opinion formers and investors. Working with the press office and marketing department on the Shell UK Annual Report.
Head of Employee Communications, Recruitment Advertising Agency
Working within one of the UK's largest independent recruitment advertising agencies to offer wider consultancy services to the agency's clients. The findings from internal research into employee attitudes to recruitment, retention and communication were used as the basis of more compelling recruitment campaigns and ongoing work on employment branding.
Memberships
We are members of the British Association of Communicators in Business and the Industrial Society's Employee Communication Association. Cchange consultants have written articles for Internal Communications magazine and the newsletter of the Industrial Society.
